2024 predictions review and here's to 2025

Well here I am, sat in my usual chair at my parent's house on new year's eve, writing what is now an annual piece.

2024 was in all honesty a really shit year for me. I am not going to go into it all now as it's not the time. However once life has decided how it's going to spit me out in 2025 I may take the opportunity to reflect.

Instead, here is a review of my predictions from last year and also what I think 2025 will have in store.

The 2024 list

There will be a spring general election in the UK (I'm going for May).

Slightly wrong, it was in July.

Labour will win the most votes.

Yes they did, by a long way

Interest rates will go down to 4.75%

Correct

Russia will still be at war with Ukraine

Putin’s “special military operation” continues

Max Verstappen will win the F1 world championship

Correct

Despite being found guitly from at least one trial, Donald Trump will be the next president, even though it pains me to say it.

Even I can't believe this happened.

Liverpool will win the Premier league

Nope, it was Cit-eh

Chelsea will win the WSL

Correct

England will win both men's and women's six nations

No and Yes

France will win the Euros

No

Jimmy Carter will sadly pass away

Correct

Brigitte Bardot will sadly pass away

No

Clint Eastwood will sadly pass away

No

And for 2025

UK interest rates will fall to 4.25%

Liverpool will win the Premier league

Chelsea will win WSL

Ireland will win men's six nations

England will win women's six nations and world cup

Lando Norris will win F1 world championship

Trump will look to broker peace in Ukraine and middle east but won't work

Dick van Dyke, Buzz Aldrin, Duchess of Kent and Judi Dench will sadly pass away.

Happy New Year everyone I hope you have a great year ahead even if the biggest achievement will be you got through it.
